Rapper N.O.R.E. Denies Knowledge Of Friend's Violent Background
The hitmaker - real name Victor Santiago - met Henderson eight years ago in the Bronx area of New York and took him on tour, hiring him to run errands. N.O.R.E. also befriended members of Murder Unit, allegedly taking them on the road with no knowledge of their violent histories and drug dealings. However, he did admit to living up the "gangsta" lifestyle to boost his reputation.
He says, "Hardcore hip hop tends to sell more records. It's about selling an image."
The hip hop star's memory repeatedly came under fire from prosecutor David M. Rody for being sketchy, after N.O.R.E. denied Henderson was ever involved in violence when they were together. Henderson has admitted to selling drugs, but is pleading not guilty to the murder charges. If convicted, he could face the death sentence.
