An earring lost by legendary movie star Marlene Dietrich
at an English coastal resort in 1934 has been found after a lake was drained. Dietrich, who died in 1992, visited Blackpool to ride its then-new rollercoaster when her gold and pearl earring flew off her finger.
But staff at the attraction now believe they have found the jewelry - some 73 years later. A Blackpool Pleasure Beach spokeswoman says, "It appears to have stood the test of time quite well. We compared it to photos taken at the time and it certainly looks like one of hers."
