WiiWith various complaints about how sturdy the current wrist strap is for the Nintendo Wii's remote and horror stories of it flying through expensive TVs, Nintendo of America has begun a free, voluntary replacement plan. By filling out a simple shipping form and your Wii's serial number, Nintendo will ship you up to four replacement straps. More details follow.

The Wii Remote Wrist Strap Replacement Request Form is here. Keep in mind that this is purely voluntary, and there is nothing wrong with the wrist strap when the remote is used in a simple manner. Rather, the new strap is for people who feel the remote may slip out of their hands or have players that may get a little "rowdy" while smashing the tennis ball in Wii Sports. The straps will ship December 21st and will take 1-2 weeks to arrive. Wii systems shipping in early December already have the new straps; no replacement is needed.
