Second Graders Urge Jay Leno To Eat His Vegetables
A class of second grade students at St. Ignatius School in Portland, Oregon wants "Tonight Show" host Jay Leno to eat his first vegetable in 37 years. On Wednesday, Dec. 13, they might see him do just that.In a recent interview Leno told Parade Magazine, "I don't think I've ever had a salad, actually. And I don't think I've had a vegetable since 1969. My mother gave up on trying to make me eat them." The students, who had been studying nutrition, took action --writing letters to the late night host about the importance of eating fruits and vegetables.
During the December 13 broadcast Leno will read some of these letters on-air and talk to the class via satellite. He may make their campaign a success by attempting to eat his first vegetable since 1969. We will have a nurse standing by.
