English singer Joss Stone's mother has turned her family home into a music academy so she can discover and nurture future stars. Wendy and Jonathan Joseph - Stone's step-father - will start auditions for the academy, to be called Mama Stone's, in January.

Wannabes will be able to attend four-day courses at their Devon home, where they will also be taught how to produce and record songs.

Wendy Joseph, who co-writes songs with her daughter, says, "We've had so many calls and we know there's talent out there. When Joss was starting out we didn't know what to do so we hope the academy will also support parents and encourage musicians. Joss is very excited, and I'm sure she will pop in often when she's home."
