Rock star Chris Robinson left Australia yesterday with his young son after reportedly attempting to reconcile with estranged wife Kate Hudson. The Black Crowes frontman has spent the past 10 days in a small Far North Queensland town, where Hudson is filming romantic comedy Fool's Gold.

According to local reports, the rocker was devastated by the thought of being separated from the couple's only child during the film's two-month shoot. The star has had custody of two-year-old Ryder since arriving in Queensland in late October to begin filming the comedy opposite Matthew McConaughey.

Robinson was seen with his son and a nanny in Sydney where they kept a low profile at a city hotel before flying back to Los Angeles. The couple split in August when Robinson filed for divorce following reports she had an affair with her You, Me And Dupree co-star Owen Wilson, which the actress has denied.
