Hip-hop star Kanye West has pledged to step back from music for at least a year because he fears his fans are getting bored of him. The star has decided his regular contributions to other artists' songs are weakening his brand name and will wait until next year before he ventures back into the charts with a new album.

He tells MTV, "It's all about falling back sometimes, so people will miss it. I'm not dropping till another year at least. Y'all don't need it right now. There's only but so much room in the CD changer. I'm on Game's album, I'm on Nas' album - it's like Eminem says, mugs be used to it."
