House star Hugh Laurie refuses to watch or listen to himself on screen because the thought alone makes him "squeamish." The British actor has received huge acclaim for his role as grumpy Dr. Gregory House on the hit hospital show, but can't appreciate his performance because of a bizarre phobia.

He explains, "Not only do I not watch my show, I can't cope with hearing my voice on a voicemail message without getting squeamish. I have a loathing both of the sound of my voice and of my visage."
