Gwen StefaniMulti platinum singer/songwriter Gwen Stefani will light up the "2006 American Music Awards" with the debut performance of her new single, "Wind It Up," from her much anticipated second solo album, "The Sweet Escape."

Stefani, known for her energetic, heart pumping live performances, will debut the single on the telecast live, Tuesday, Nov. 21, (8:00-11:00 p.m., ET), on ABC. The show, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, will emanate from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, CA.

Stefani joins previously announced performers Beyonce, Carrie Underwood, Dixie Chicks, Josh Groban, Mary J. Blige, Nelly Furtado, Pussycat Dolls, Rascal Flatts, Snow Patrol and Tenacious D.

The "2006 American Music Awards" will also welcome a star-studded roster of celebrity presenters, to be announced, who will help hand out 20 American Music Awards representing the best of Pop/Rock, Country, Soul/Rhythm & Blues, Rap/Hip Hop, Latin, Alternative, Adult Contemporary and Contemporary Inspirational music.
