Following her resounding debut success in the U.K. late last year, singer-songwriter Chantal Chamandy--a longtime resident of Montreal who was born on the Nile in Alexandria, Egypt--is bringing her sensual uptempo sounds to the U.S.

Immediately upon its release to U.S. radio, "You Want Me" shot to #1 Most Added on FMQB's Hot AC chart and held its position for two weeks in a row. Among the nine songs it beat to the top were tracks from Coldplay, Bon Jovi and Anna Nalick.

FMQB wrote in its new release review, "Layered tastefully with Middle Eastern melodies, "You Want Me" showcases Chantal Chamandy's exotic influences and dynamic vocals centered around a driving, uptempo backdrop. Her unique pop style and savvy production paves the way for this vibrant newcomer."

The multi-lingual Chamandy and her label, Ninemuse Entertainment, have further turned up the heat with remixes by Grammy-winning producer Brian Rawling (Cher's "Believe") and turntable stars Norty Cotto (Ricky Martin, Anastacia, Nina Sky), Miami-based Lee Cabrera ("Shake-It") and The Bilz. These were simultaneously serviced to clubs and dance radio across the country as well. Out on limited-edition disc, they are followed by additional reinventions of "You Want Me"--including a reggaeton version--to coincide with the U.S. release of Chamandy's debut album Love Needs You.

Building on organic momentum generated at London's hottest clubs, and via radio airplay and heavy video rotation on MTV-U.K. and The Box, "You Want Me" landed on Billboard's Dance breakout chart at #4 in early January. The track, one of seven Chamandy composed with Bangladesh--born Indian music master Subir Dev, features swirling Indian tablas, diverse world influences and global pop savvy. It has also been put into the New Songs rotation on Top Dance, one of AOL's most popular exclusive music channels.
