Country star Kenny Chesney has hit back at reports he's about to be dragged into Sara Evans' divorce battle - as the other man. The singer's husband, Craig Schelske, has intimated he'll name Chesney in divorce papers he plans to file next week after Evans accused her man of cheating in her dissolution of marriage documents last week.

But Chesney, who befriended Evans when she hit the road on an American tour with him, insists any suggestion that he has had an affair with the singer is ludicrous.

In a statement released yesterday, his publicist writes, "The allegations that Kenny had an affair with Sara are impossible and totally untrue. Kenny views Sara as a friend and he is saddened by what she's going through."
