Slideshows Hot or Not? TV Recaps Fashion Interviews Celeb Birthdays
Hollywood is going to the dogs this weekend and Desperate Housewives star Nicollette Sheridan will be dining on pooch food to launch the new California incentive. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has declared Saturday "Dine With Your Dog Day," and he has teamed up with actor Dick Van Patten's Natural Balance dog food company Natural Balance in the hope of showing dog lovers how delicious pet chow can be.
Sheridan will launch the bizarre statewide day on Thursday at the Hyatt Regency hotel by dining with her dog Oliver at a celebrity event, which will also be attended by fellow dog lovers including Linda Blair and Annabeth Gish.
"Dine With Your Dog Day" spokesman Daniel Bernstein says, "It's a fun initiative aimed at raising funds and awareness for state animal charities like Linda Blair's animal rescue group. The stars won't actually be eating dog food. Natural Balance's meals are like stew."
