Los Angeles modern rock band The Exies have signed with Eleven Seven Music to release their forthcoming album, "A Modern Way Of Living With The Truth," the band's first studio album in two years. The Exies first two studio albums (Inertia & Head for the Door, Virgin Records), have yielded such hits songs as "Ugly" and "My Goddess." The new studio album on Eleven Seven Music will be part of the label's "upstreaming" business model with ADA and is slated for release in March of 2007. Eleven Seven's model was proven to work via the label's inaugural release (Buckcherry's new album 15) which was picked up by Atlantic Records after the first week in stores and has become one of the top selling rock albums for 2006.
Go to the official Exies MySpace page to get a preview of the new music from the forthcoming album, including the song "Different Than You" which will also be included on the soundtrack for the upcoming film National Lampoon's Van Wilder: The Rise of Taj, available November 21st through Eleven Seven Music.
Scott Stevens from The Exies commented: "We are very excited to be in business with Eleven Seven. They have given us the time and space to create the best record we've ever done and look forward to having the world hear it."
Allen Kovac, CEO of Eleven Seven Music noted: "The Exies have a terrific fanbase. Eleven Seven Music will give The Exies the attention they deserve to help take their careers to the next level."
Formed in Los Angeles in 1997, The Exies broke onto the national scene in January of 2003 with their first major release, Inertia, courtesy of Virgin. The album drew critical acclaim and solidified The Exies place in the contemporary music landscape.
Their second album, Head for the Door, was released on November 30, 2004. The album's first single, "Ugly," was top 15 at both Modern Rock and Mainstream Rock (as well as #6 on Active Rock Charts) and was also used by World Wrestling Entertainment as the theme song for that year's Survivor Series pay per-view event in November 2004, and was featured on a commercial for the WB television network. The band has toured extensively with such notable artists like Motley Crue, Breaking Benjamin, 30 Seconds to Mars, The Used, Chevelle, Seether, , Evanescence, Ten Years, and Velvet Revolver.
