The TV series spin-off to the Blade franchise is officially a flop - the vampire-hunting action series has been cancelled. According to internet reports, executives at cable network Spike TV have scrapped plans to air a second season of the show.

On her MySpace.com blog page, disappointed star Jill Wagner writes, "I was informed today that there will be no second season of Blade the series... Thanks for the support. Hey, there is always the DVD right?"

In the series, rapper Sticky Fingaz took over the Blade role from Wesley Snipes, who has portrayed the vampire killer in three movies.
