Neil Young Wins Americana Prize
Legendary singer Neil Young has won the Artist Of The Year prize at the Americana Honors and Awards in Nashville, Tennessee. The 60-year-old was honoured for his latest LP, protest album Living With War, at a ceremony last night.
James McMurtry win the Album Of The Year and Song Of The Year awards for Childish Things and We Can't Make It Here Anymore, respectively. Drive-By Truckers were named Group Of The Year, guitarist Kenny Vaughan is Instrumentalist Of The Year. Rodney Crowell and Alejandro Escovedo won Lifetime Achievement awards.
The Americana awards honour country, folk and bluegrass music.
