Billy Bob Thornton was left red-faced when his girlfriend convinced him to pose for a family photo at his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame - because fans couldn't stop staring at him.

The Bad Santa star admits the idea was terrible, but he wanted to please his partner after they took their baby daughter to a Sesame Street show at the Kodak Theatre nearby.

He recalls, "Connie, my girlfriend, she said, 'Why don't we go out to your star and take a picture with you and (daughter) Bella standing by it?' I went, 'OK...' It's one of the stupidest things you can do. We go out there and I'm holding my kid... and on Hollywood Boulevard they've got all these guys dressed up like Spider-Man and Darth Vader...? Well, I think the people thought that I was dressed up like me or something because I'm standing on the star with my daughter... They just stared at me. Finally this Mexican guy comes up to me and he goes, 'Hey man, you're not Billy Bob.'"
