Blythe Danner Was Appalled By How She Looked on High-Definition Film
Blythe Danner was always happy to age gracefully, until she saw herself on high-definition film. The Emmy-winning actress, 63, admits she was "appalled" when she watched back episodes of TV series Huff, in which she stars as Isabelle Huffstodt. And she confesses seeing herself in such a harsh light prompted her to "get a little help," although she insists she stays away from invasive anti-ageing therapies.
She says, “I am 63, I don't care. The thing is, I wasn't terribly conscious of it until we did 'Huff' and they used this dreadful high-definition which makes anybody over 50 look as if they are 80. So, I got very self-conscious about that. Yes, we all get a little help, a little bit of this or that, not tremendous amounts. There were some shots on 'Huff' I was just appalled by. I don't think I am terribly narcissistic, but you don't want to look your worst.”
