Furious Sean Connery Quits Hollywood
The former James Bond star was in his home town of Edinburgh, Scotland, where he was presented with a BAFTA Scotland Award for Outstanding Achievement in Film.
And Connery, who was celebrating his 76th birthday, announced the end of his *50-year Hollywood career with a furious tirade against an industry he accused of incompetence and unprofessionalism.
Connery said, "The time has come because of my rather unfortunate last movie. The cost to me in terms of frustration and avoiding going to jail for murder cannot have continued."
Connery went on to describe the director of The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen Stephen Norrington as being "insane". He said, "He was young and enthusiastic. I presumed someone wouldn't give a person $84 million to go to a wonderful city like Prague without due diligence."
