Christina Aguilera has stormed back to the top of the album charts for the first time since 1999. The singer's new double album Back To Basics debuted at the top of the new chart with 342,000 copies sold in its first week.
That mirrors the album's success in several other territories, including Britain, where it crashed in at number one on Sunday. Back To Basics leads five new releases which debut at the top of the Billboard chart - Lyfe Jennings has stunned chart watchers by debuting "The Phoenix" at number two, while country crooner Trace Adkins' "Dangerous Man" enters the new chart at number three.
Sister act Cherish enter the charts at four with "Underappreciated" and The Cheetah Girls II soundtrack debuts at five. Also new to the top 10 is rapper Obie Trice's Second "Round's On Me" at number eight.
