Jennifer LopezJennifer Lopez is close to settling her legal battle with her first ex-husband Ojani Noa before it goes to court. The singer/actress filed suit against the former waiter in April after Noa announced plans to detail his one-year marriage with the Latina beauty in a tell-all book. She also obtained a restraining order barring Noa from revealing intimate details of their sex life.

Noa and Lopez signed an agreement last year, ruling he could not disparage the star or make money from disclosing intimate details from their brief marriage. In court papers, Lopez claimed Noa said he would continue to market his book “The Unknown Truth: A Passionate Portrait Of A Serial Thriller,” unless the star paid him $5 million; however, Noa denied these claims.

At a hearing in Los Angeles Superior Court yesterday, lawyers for Lopez and Noa said they hoped to settle their differences through arbitration. This is second legal dispute between the former spouses - last year they settled a lawsuit filed by the Cuban-born model, who claimed he was fired "without good cause or reasons" from his position as manager of her Pasadena, California restaurant Madre's.

The couple divorced in March 1998 after 13 months of marriage.
