(Minor spoiler alert!) Teri Hatcher has promised Desperate Housewives fans her lovelorn character Susan Mayer will ultimately settle down with hunky plumber Mike Delfino.

Single mother Mayer's relationship with the Wisteria Lane hunk - played by James Denton - has been on and off, but Hatcher insists when the show eventually ends in a few years time, the couple will be for keeps.

She says, "Marc (Cherry, the executive producer) has promised that, ultimately, Susan and Mike will end up together."
