British crooner James Blunt has come in at fourth place in a new poll of "most annoying things" - beating traffic wardens, hangovers and even "stepping in dog poo" to the lofty position. The survey, which came up with 100 irritating facts of life, was conducted by health drink company Lactofree.

And despite Blunt having rocketed to number one in the UK singles chart last year with “You're Beautiful,” he found himself worryingly close to the top spot of a very different chart.

A spokeswoman says, "It's the little things beyond our control that seem to annoy us the most."

The top five most annoying things are as follows:

1. Cold callers
2. Caravans
3. Line cutters
4. James Blunt
5. Traffic police
