The Whites Stripes rocker Jack White quit his hometown of Detroit, Michigan, because he was sick of the "negativity".

White currently lives in Nashville, Tennessee, with his wife Karen Elson and their daughter Scarlett.

White insists he fought for years to boost Detroit's music scene, but gave up the "losing battle".

He says, "I couldn't take the negativity anymore. It was draining me, I had to get somewhere where I could breathe again."
