David Spade claims Heather Locklear feels betrayed by former best friend Denise Richards, who is now dating her estranged husband Richie Sambora. Spade was recently romantically linked with Locklear but insists they are just friends.

The star was asked at a Los Angeles awards party Wednesday how Locklear was coping with the news that Sambora and Richards were now a couple.

He said, "All I know is she's home nursing her knife wounds in the back tonight. That whole thing - objectively - looks a little rough. But I think that's the common opinion. Guys you can kind of not trust. But girls usually cover each other. That's what makes that rougher than usual."

When asked about the status of his own relationship with Locklear, Spade added, "I don't know what's going on. I'm just lucky to know someone that's that sweet and pretty."
