Sharon Stone Settles Case Against British Tabloid

Sharon Stone has secured a settlement with a British tabloid, winning substantial undisclosed damages and a formal apology over an article claiming she left her son in a car while she enjoyed a late night restaurant date. The actress filed the suit against the Daily Mail after they claimed to have snapped the boy asleep in the back seat of her car, while she snuggled up to a "mystery male companion" in plush eating house The Ivy.
A month later the paper published a second article under the headline: "Sharon's dinner date and this time her baby goes too." Stone's lawyer Rupert Grey claimed the paper falsely insinuated star was a bad mother on both occasions, and that her son had been traumatized by the hounding photographers.
He added, "The article conveyed the clear allegation that Sharon Stone had neglected her son in a shameful and selfish way."
Stone has promised to donate the court payout to charity.
