Illusionist David Blaine
is masterminding another huge public stunt - he'll live underwater for a week. The quirky star, who has spent 61 hours in ice and 44 days fasting in a glass box suspended over London's River Thames in past spectaculars, will literally sleep with the fishes for seven days and seven nights at the beginning of next month.
The human aquarium stunt will take place outside New York's Lincoln Center and will conclude with Blaine attempting to break the record for holding one's breath underwater. This finale will be aired live on TV on May 8. To prepare for the challenge, Blaine reportedly trained with U.S. Navy Seals.
