Despite recent sightings of Hilary Swank and Chad Lowe appearing affectionate together the couple will not be reconciling, according to media reports. The pair called it quits in January after eight years of marriage but were hopeful they could work things out during a trial separation.

A source tells Us Weekly that spending too much time apart was to blame for the eventual demise of the relationship, adding, "They are not getting back together. There seemed to be competition between them."
