Former James Bond star Pierce Brosnan has congratulated new 007 Daniel Craig on his casting as the suave super spy.

Craig, who will make his debut as Bond in new movie Casino Royale, was thrilled to hear from the Irish star.

And Craig is hopeful Bond veterans Sean Connery and Roger Moore will follow suit and also get in touch.

Craig says, "I've spoken to Pierce. Has advice was, 'Just go for it.'

"I haven't heard from anyone else."
