The Dirty Dozen* Warner Brothers and Village Roadshow Pictures will remake classic movie The Dirty Dozen, the 1967 action drama that starred Lee Marvin as a major who enlists 12 condemned solider-prisoners for a dangerous mission in World War II. Joel Silver will produce the film.

* Colin Farrell had to lose 25 pounds to play a skinny writer in his latest film, Ask The Dust. He was put on a highly restrictive diet that banned alcohol.

* The life of celebrated Russian composer Sergei Rachmaninov is to inspire a Hollywood biopic, media reports suggest. The music mastermind, famed for his piano concertos, died in California in 1943, having fled his homeland in 1917 after it was gripped by revolution. His eventful life story will be adapted into a feature film from his widow's perspective, according to Variety. Movie maker Bruce Beresford has been tipped to direct the project.
