French actress Eva Green will play Daniel Craig's leading lady in his debut James Bond performance. The 25-year-old will play Vesper Lynd in "Casino Royale" after a host of screen beauties including Angelina Jolie, Charlize Theron, and Thandie Newton, reportedly snubbed producers.

A rare example of an actress beginning her career well into adulthood, Green's first feature film role was the female lead in Bernardo Bertolucci's 2003 erotic drama The Dreamers, for which she also penned the score. Green made quite an impression with her debut performance, working with a legendary director and appearing in so many nude and/or sexually explicit scenes that the film originally received an NC-17 rating.

Green has also appeared opposite Orlando Bloom in Kingdom of Heaven.
