Coldplay have denied reports they are splitting up. Frontman Chris Martin - who is married to actress Gwyneth Paltrow - sparked break up rumors as he collected two accolades at the Brit Awards on Wednesday night. Their representatives issued a statement saying: "Coldplay are not quitting. They are on the road until July, when their 16-month X&Y world tour ends in Japan.

"They will then continue working on new material."

Martin also told British newspaper The Sun the band simply want a rest before heading back to the studio. He is quoted as saying: "We've been working solidly promoting the album and we need a rest. We're having a break and then we'll come back.

"We've already written half of a new album and it will be f#$%ing brilliant."
