Lance Bass Is Producing Modern Version of 'The Great Gatsby'
February 8th, 2006 11:47am EST Post a comment Add to My NewsFormer 'N Sync star Lance Bass is working on a modern movie version of F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic "The Great Gatsby," but he fears he's too old to star in the project. The singer hopes to set the new film, which he'll produce, in a U.S. high school. The 26-year-old explains, "We're casting for it right now. I'd love to play a part but I'm probably too old to play a high school guy."
He added, "A lot of people still see me as that 16-year-old who first started out, which is very flattering, and I still think I look like I'm in high school and feel like I'm in high school, but the other producers say I can't play 21 anymore."
This production marks the fifth time that "The Great Gatsby" had been committed to film -- the best known version being Jack Clayton's 1974 adaptation, featuring Robert Redford as Gatsby and Mia Farrow as Daisy.
