Troubled rocker Courtney Love was released from a home detention order by a Los Angeles judge on Friday (Feb. 3), after he praised her progress in overcoming drug addiction. The widow of Nirvana legend Kurt Cobain was attending a routine progress hearing for drug and assault offences when she received the good news.
Superior Court Judge Rand Rubin extended Love's probation to March 2007, and ordered her to continue taking twice-weekly drug and alcohol tests before returning for the next progress hearing on May 12.
The 41-year-old told Judge Rubin, "I feel like I'm getting my creativity back... and that I've put a very gnarly drug problem behind me."
Earlier last week, Love failed to have a civil suit relating to her 2004 attack on musician Kristin King thrown out of court.
