have ended rumors that they are to reunite for an upcoming tour. The British rock band - who split more than 20 years ago - insist they have no plans to reform for a UK tour later this year. Guitarist Dave Gilmour
said: "Certain sections of the media have deliberately misled fans. We are telling fans directly this is not happening."
Speculation had been rife the quartet would play at least two dates at London's Royal Albert Hall. But Gilmour accused the media of "inventing quotes", telling the BBC website: "We are asking the various parties who are fabricating these stories to desist, if only for the sake of the fans."
Pink Floyd performed together for the first time in 24 years at the Live 8 concert in London last July. Roger Waters
, one of the band's co-founders, returned to the band to make the special appearance in London's Hyde Park. Their four-song set at the global fund-raiser was considered to be one of the highlights of the concert.
In November of last year, the band came together once again to be inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame. (see: "UK Music Hall of Fame Inducts Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Who, Dylan & More
