Former Friends star Matthew Perry is heading back to TV to star in a new series written by The West Wing creator Aaron Sorkin. Perry will play a former comedy writer on a Saturday Night Live-esque show, who is invited back as the producer. His character Matt Albie's new job is made difficult because he has just broken up with the comedy show's leading star.
Sorkin wrote the part with Perry in mind after the actor impressed him with a guest spot on The West Wing. Funnymen D.L. Hughley and Steven Weber will also star in the series.
