British R&B star Ms. Dynamite
is in trouble with the police again after being accused of assaulting a woman in a Chinese restaurant in October 2004. The singer, who was last week given 60 hours of community service after pleading guilty to assaulting a police officer, is alleged to have punched 25-year-old Sarah Hori at the 1997 restaurant in London's Soho district.
Hori claims she was looking at a clock on the wall behind the singer, when she demanded to know, "What the f**k are you looking at?" To which she responded, "Who the hell are you?" Dynamite, real name Niomi McLean-Daley, then allegedly punched Hori.
A spokesman for the music star says, "These allegations have always been vehemently denied and charges were never made." But Hori is urging police to look into the case again, in light of the star's recent conviction.
