Hollywood screen star Shelley Winters has died after suffering a heart attack. She was 85.
Winters, who won Academy Awards for her roles in The Diary of Anne Frank and A Patch of Blue, passed away in a Beverly Hills hospital on Saturday night - three months after she was first hospitalized after suffering a heart attack.
Born Shirley Schrift, the curvy starlet from Illinois, moved to Hollywood after a stint on Broadway, and famously shared a flat with movie goddess Marilyn Monroe.
Winters married and divorced three times, and is survived by one daughter, Vittoria, and by second husband Vittorio Gassman.
