Foxy Brown Outraged About Hearing Loss Slip

Hip-hop star Foxy Brown has fired her lawyer Joseph Tacopina after he informed journalists of her hearing loss. While standing beside the rapper following her Monday court appearance on assault charges, Tacopina told the press that his client was "pretty much totally deaf." And furious Brown, real name Inga Marchand, dismissed him immediately for making the statement.
Hip Hop Summit Action Network president Benjamin Chavis says, "(Tacopina was fired) for giving improper and inappropriate statements to the press about her medical condition when she had requested of him not to make any statements to the press about anything other than her legal case. She felt the attorney went too far, and therefore he was dismissed on the spot. She heard him say things she had not authorised him to say about her health."
Tacopina, however, insists he was dismissed over a difference in opinion on the rapper's assault case. As for discussing the hearing loss in court, he explains, "She wanted me to explain to the judge that she can't hear. That was done on the record." He adds that his comments to the media were in response to reporters who heard his statements in court. Brown faces misdemeanour charges of assault, attempted assault, and harassment for allegedly punching and kicking two employees at a New York City nail salon, following a payment dispute.
