Raunchy rapper Foxy Brown is now completely deaf, and fears the condition could spell the end of her career.
The Oh Yeah hitmaker, real name Igna Marchand, started worrying about her hearing at the beginning of the year when pal and label boss Jay-Z told her the sound levels on her new album Black Roses were way too high - when she thought they were perfect.
And she is anxiously awaiting corrective surgery, after doctors diagnosed her with severe sudden sensorineural hearing loss.
In a Manhattan court on Monday waiting for the rapper's slow-moving 2004 assault case to be called, Marchand's attorney Joseph Tacopina told the judge his client's hearing was so bad they needed to communicate with pen and paper.
Tacopina says, "She is pretty much totally deaf now. She can't hear me. Anything I communicate with her now has to be written."
Marchand is charged with misdemeanour assault, attempted assault and harassment.
