By Joan Alperin Schwartz

Nothing scares me more than zombies and that's why I can't get enough of them. I've seen every George Romero film, as well as '28 Days Later' many, many times...Plus I own the first two seasons of 'The Walking Dead'.

Needless to say, I was really looking forward to 'World War Z' and I'm happy to report, I was not disappointed...

First of all, the zombies in 'World War Z' are not your every day slow moving zombies...Nope, these flesh loving guys and gals, can jump so high, you ...

Oleander
Oleander is a band hell bent on succeeding. They survived a self-imposed four year hiatus and going a decade in-between releases to return to the music scene as relevant as ever, and not to mention stronger than ever, armed with their best album to date in Something Beautiful.

They’ve worked with WWE and the UFC, recording a song with one of the latter’s top bantamweight fighters and have had their music included in a very popular video game. Oh, they also have a new home on Cobalt Music Group. So yeah, there’s a lot going on with Oleander.

Frontman Tom Flowers took some time out of the b...

June 19th, 2013 7:09pm EDT
Miley Cyrus
Miley Cyrus just released the video for "We Can't Stop," the first single off her upcoming debut album for new label RCA Records.

The singer, who was named the worst female celebrity role model for kids (Chris Brown "won" for the men) in a recent poll, lives up to the title in her racy new video, which features her in a pool wearing a see-trough swimsuit and French-kissing a doll dressed the same way, spanking another woman, dancing teddybears and plenty of "twerking."

The scantily-dressed 20-year-old also writhes around in her bed, sticks out her tongue a lot, slaps some butts and... wor...

CD Review: I Can See Mountains - "Life on a Houseboat"

June 19th, 2013 5:53pm EDT
I Can See Mountains
In today’s conclusion-jumping, title obsessed society; it can be easy to pigeonhole bands, typecasting their sound into a specific genre. While not exactly the exception to the rule, Buffalo’s I Can See Mountains seek to throw a monkey wrench into the thought processes, and have done so with their latest release, Life on a Houseboat. From the onset, it’s clear the Queen City boys have a penchant for melody (“One Mirror, Two Bodies,” “Glory”), though it’s quickly evident that Life on a Houseboat is much more than hooky pomp and circumstance. While the band doesn’t shy away from hooks (“Life ...

June 19th, 2013 5:00pm EDT
Miley Cyrus
A new survey names Miley Cyrus and Chris Brown as the worst celebrity role models for children.

The former "Hannah Montana" star, 19, earned 68 percent of parents' disapproval in the new poll from CouponCodes4u.com. The singer/actress, who recently said that marijuana isn't that dangerous, no longer embodies a squeaky clean image - thus putting her in the number-one slot.

In the female version of the poll, Cyrus narrowly beat out Lindsay Lohan, who garnered 65 percent of the unpopularity vote. New mom Kim Kardashian, Amanda Bynes, and "Teen Mom" and aspiring XXX star Farrah Abraham rounde...
