The diamond engagement ring that Kim Kardashian was given by ex-husband Kris Humphries has been sold to an anonymous bidder at New York City's famed auction house Christie's on Tuesday.
The ring, a Lorraine Schwartz creation that features a 16-carat rectangle-cut diamond, was originally purchased by Humphries for about $2 million. The sparkler sold for $620,000 (plus a $129,000 commission), much higher than the $300,000 to $500,000 it was expected to fetch.
Humphries, who was behind the sale, will donate the proceeds to charity.
A spokesman for Christie's told E! News that the ring had four interested bidders driving the price up, two who called in by phone and two at the auction, with one of the phone bidders winning.
Humphries will reportedly donate a portion of the proceeds to an as-yet-undetermined charity.
