"American Idol" Makes First Elimination on Results Show

Along with a new season of “Ameerican Idol” are some new additions for the results show. This year Idol will reveal the top three but not the order and they will reveal the remainder of the singers in order of their votes.

The save has returned this season but can only be used one time during the season and the judges must be in total agreement.

Before any results were revealed mentor Jimmy Iovine gave his thoughts on the singer's performances; saying that the girls outperformed the guys.

Candice is the first person in the top three and is safe.

The first group performance was “Shine Your Way”.

The mayor of Woodville, Texas presented Kree Harrison with the key to the city; telling her she is always welcome back to the city where she grew up.

Bon Jovi sang their new single “Because We Can” from their new album which was released this week.

This season the Idol tour will feature eleven singers. To determine the eleventh spot was a sing off between the runner up girl and guy for fan votes. First up was Charlie at the piano with an original tune - “Sky Blue Diamond”. Next up was Aubrey with “Out Here on My Own” from the movie “Fame”. The winner will be announcedon next week's performance show.

Season eleven winner Phillip Phillips performed his new single and the season 12 good-bye song “Gone Gone Gone”. After his performance Randy Jackson presented Phillip with a plaque marking his single “Home” being certified quadrouple platinum for selling four million copies.

Back to more results; and Angie is safe and the last person in the top three.

Lazaro is fourth
Amber is fifth
Janelle is sixth
Burnell is seventh
Paul is eighth

and the bottom two are Devin and Curtis with one of them facing elimination.

Devin is the last singer safe but Curtis has the chance to save himself with his save song - “I Believe I Can Fly”. Nicki said that Curtis did not belong in the bottom and if he goes home then she will go home.

After his performance, Randy announced that they were not in total agreement and would not be saving Curtis.

Will Nicki be back next week to hear the nine remaining singers perform?
