The drama and emotions continue on Hollywood week of “American Idol” when the guys must perform for one more round.

The guys have 60 seconds to show the judges that they are good enough to go on to the live shows and become the next “American Idol”. They must choose a song from an approved list but have the Idol band backing them. It is also the first time that the singers were allowed to play their own instruments.

Among the changes for season 12, the singers will not have to wait for everyone to sing or be placed in rooms, they will learn their fate from the judges every eight singers. The judges based their decisions on the singer's entire performances not just the solo. Forty-three singers went into the solo round, but only 20 of them will make it to the top 40 – 20 guys and 20 girls.

Some of the singers who stood out were Lazaro, Paul, Adam, Charley, Curtis, Devin, Grupeet, Cortez, Jimmy, Johnny, Vincent, Brunell, Marvin, Nick, and Anthony.

Back stage celebrating, the guys thought they had some time to relax when they wer called back on stage where head judge Randy Jackson informed the guys that eight of them would be cut, but they would not find out which eight until after the girls were done.

Next week the girls come to Hollywood.
