It’s semi finals week on “The X Factor” and the four remaining acts must perform two songs – one is the contestant’s choice” as they work to become one of the three spots in the finals.   This week it’s all up to the fans with no more sing offs or judge’s saves.

For his first performance Tate Stevens chose a song he said reflects who he is and where he came from with “Bonfire”.  Only Britney didn’t agree with her fellow judges and rousing audience response.  Simon called the performance a reflection of the kind of song Tate wanted to record and LA said it was the most fun he has had on the show.

For his second performance Tate sang “Fall” by Clay Walker.  The judges all agreed the performance was amazing with Britney calling it a direct hit.

True to form Carly Rose performed her usual slow songs with big notes.  For her first performance Carly sang the Sir Elton John hit “Your Song” in a performance the judge’s called predictable, a risk, and beautiful.

For her second song - “Imagine” - Carly began and ended the performance at the piano.  While most of the judges agreed the performance was risky but amazing; Simon called it fussy and over complicated, saying that Carly should have stayed at the piano.

The boys of Emblem 3 performed the Peter Frampton hit “Baby I Love Your Way” with an Emblem 3 twist.  LA called it a $5 million moment and Britney called it unfair to call the guys a boy band.

For their second performance Emblem 3 sang The Beatles mega hit “Hey Jude” in a performance that LA said he was prepared to rip to shreds but instead called them teen hearth throbs who did a great job and Britney called it an A level performance.  After their performance the guys thanked those who have supported them.

The girls in Fifth Harmony sang “Anything Can Happen” in a performance LA called their best and Britney called magic.

For their second performance Fifth Harmony performed the first song they had ever done as a group – “Imposible”.  While LA thought it was a lazy song choice, the girls called the performance stiff; but Simon felt it was the right thing to do and loved the Spanish lines in the song.  After the comments host Mario Lopez spoke to the girls in Spanish.

On results night the finalists will be revealed but no leader board and Bruno Mars performs.
