Only six performers remain on “The X Factor” as the show approaches the semi finals.  This week the singers must face two performances as the Pepsi Challenge returns and the songs go unplugged.

Performing “Edge of Glory” by Laday Gaga, Cece Frey gets the night’s musical entertainment started.  LA and Demi thought the performance was really good, but Britney and Simon felt otherwise with Simon calling the perfornance Cabaret.

Noting last week that they can also play instruments, Emblem 3 sang the Bruno Mars song “Just the Way You Are” as one of the boys did indeed play the guitar.  Only Demi had any negative remarks calling the boys a downgreaded version of the Jonas Brothers.

Carly Rose sang the Justin Bieber song “As Long as You Love Me” with the judges calling it amazing and Demi even said it was better than the original.

Fifth Harmony sang the Adele song “Fire to the Rain” in a performance that had Simon saying it was pick on Fifth Harmony week again and telling the girls that they deserved a shot at the semi finals.

Diamond White took on James Brown with “It’s a Man’s World” in a performance LA said had attitude; but also had some of the judges noting that they wished Diamond had performed a different song since she had done the same song in a earlier performance.

Tate Stevens finished out round one with his take on the Bon Jovi hit “Living on a Prayer” but Demi was bored and Simon compared it to walking a goldfish; telling Tate that he should pick his own songs to sing.

Cece kicked off the Pepsi Challenge round – where fans pick the songs and have a say in all aspects of the performance – with her version of the Katy Perry song “Part of Me”.  LA called the performance karaoke but Britney was entertained by the performance.

Emblem 3 performed “Forever Young” that the judges called amazing, a super star performance, and Simon proclaiming that Emblem 3 had landed.

Carly Rose gave a performance of “If I Were a Boy” that had the audience screaming her name afterward and the judges calling a phenomenal vocal and Britney saying Carly Rose was a definition of “The X Factor”.

Fifth Harmony performed the Demi Lovato song “Give Your Hear a Break” and Demi herself proclaimed that the girls performed the song better than the original.  Simon thanked America for making such a great song choice.

Diamond White sang “Diamonds” in a performance that the judges ranged from not liking the rendition to seeing a star on the stage and a spectacular performance.

Simon was pleased with the song choices made by the fans and wishes they could do it more often.

The final performance of the night was from Tate Stevens with “If Tomorrrow Never Comes” by Garth Brooks.  The judges called the performance brilliant, amazing, and a great job; with Simon proclaiming Tate would be back next week.

On the results show season one winner Melanie Amaro returns to “The X Factor” stage, Ke$ha will perform, and two more acts will be eliminated.
