Next week it’s the semi finals on “The Voice”; only four spots are available with six singers remaining.
Before any of the night’s performances or results were revealed, host Carson Daly announced that three of the six singers topped the charts after their performances on Monday…
Terry took the number one and number two spots on the Rock chart
Trevin took the number one spot on the R&B chart
Cassadee took the number one spot on the Pop chart
and there were four songs in the top 10 on the iTunes chart.
Amanda Brown joined Ne-Yo for a performance of “Let Me Love You”. Terry and Trevin teamed up to perform the One Republic song “Feel Again”.
The first results of the night revealed that team Blake’s Terry McDermott was the first singer going into the semi finals.
Amanda Brown and Cassadee Pop paired up for a performance of the Kelly Clarkson hit “Breakaway”.
The next singer into the semi finals was team Cee Lo’s Trevin Hunte.
During the battle rounds Rob Thomas of Matchbox 20 helped Cee Lo mentor his singers; tonight Rob and Matchbox 20 joined forces with team Cee Lo’s Nicholas David and Trevin Hunte for a performance of “Overjoyed”.
This time the results revealed one of the girls was the next singer into the finals when Carson called out the name of Cassadee Pope from team Blake.
Only one more spot remains for the semi finals and three singers – Amanda Brown, Melanie Martinez, and Nicholas David.
Singing a song Christina suggested for Melanie, Nicholas and Melanie performed the Fiona Apple song “Criminal”.
Instead of naming the final singer in the semi finals first, Carson named the first singer to be eliminated from the competition…from team Adam, the youngest singer in the competition Melanie Martinez was the first to go home.
