It’s the first week of fan votes and results on “The X Factor” when the top 13 become the top 12 in a show that brings a big twist at the end.

Hit British pop stars One Direction open the show with their first of two live performances.

The first act safe was Arin Ray; he was followed by Paige Thomas, Diamond White, Vino Alan, Jennel Garcia, and the group Emblem Three.

Before any more results were revealed, One Direction returned to the stage for their second performance.

In more results Carly Rose, Tate Stevens, Beatrice Miller, and the group Lyric 145 were safe; leaving Cece Frey, Fifth Harmony, and Jason Brock – two of them would be in the bottom and would have to sing for their lives.

Fifth Harmony was safe; but Cece and Jason would have to sing and hope for a judge’s save.

After their performances there was no surprise that Demi and LA chose to save their own artists – Demi and Simon chose to send Jason home; while Brittney and LA chose to send Cece home.  With the deadlock the final results were up to the fan votes.

The fans chose to send Jason home who said in his final remarks, “I did it for the gays and Japan.”

For the first time in reality competition history the show revealed the order of fan votes from last to first…
Cece Frey
Arin Ray
Beatrice Miller
Lyric 145
Paige Thomas
Jennel Garcia
Emblem Three
Fifth Harmony
Diamond White
Vino Alan
Carly Rose
and the #1 vote getter was Tate Stevens

The top 12 return next Wednesday for more performances and fan votes.
