Twilight's Kristen Stewart has nabbed her first high fashion campaign. She's been named the spokeswoman for Balenciaga’s newest fragrance.

Kristen Stewart has been named the newest brand ambassador for famed fashion house Balenciaga, Women's Wear Daily  said Friday.

The Twilight actress is shaking off her grungy image to become the glam new face of the latest Balenciaga fragrance.

The soon-to-be announced perfume will launch in the fall, following the completion of the teen vampire series The Twilight Saga, on which Kristen cut her teeth in Hollywood.

Kristen's appointment may come as a surprise to some stylistas; after all, the star is routinely snapped in casual attire. But Stewart has undergone something of a style transformation of late --complete with wowing red carpet looks and an increased appearance on a bevy of best-dressed lists.

The respected designer brand snapped up K-Stew, as Kristen is affectionately known to Twihards, after falling in love with the sometimes awkward actress' "unique sense of style."

"Kristen stood out as an evident choice for this new fragrance. She has a unique sense of style, quite original and chic in the way she mixes fashion elements. Her elegant modernity and innate rebel style perfectly match with the radical spirit of Balenciaga," according to Nicolas Ghesquière, the brand's creative director and senior vice president of Coty Fragrances.

The starlet says she's more than ready to take on the role. The actress emphasized her long-standing respect for Balenciaga -- which is known for its feminine but ultra-modern style -- in a statement. 

"Balenciaga has always stood out to me," Kristen told WWD. "The brand is just cool. That's the way it is. I feel drawn to it. It provokes on a number of levels. It isn't afraid or contrived. It hits a very cool balance, always. Always pretty undeniable."

Stewart will join actress/singer Charlotte Gainsbourg, who has represented the Balenciaga Paris fragrance since its launch in 2010.

With Breaking Dawn -- Part 2, On the Road and Snow White and the Huntsman on the horizon, it sounds like Kristen has a hectic 2012 to look forward to.
