Miranda Lambert To Make Her Acting Debut As Rape Victim
Guess who's coming to the squad room?
Country star Miranda Lambert has landed a role on her favorite TV drama: Law & Order: Special Victims Unit .
The award-winning, newlywed singer will make her acting debut on the long-running crime drama later this season.
And she is absolutely thrilled.
"Yall I'm so freaking excited to be on my favorite show ever!!!" Miranda informed her fans in the Twitterverse on Monday.
In the episode, scheduled for broadcast this spring, the star will play an actress who claims to have been sexually assaulted by a reality TV producer, played by Michael McKean.
Miranda won't be the only singer in the episode. Jazz crooner Harry Connick Jr. -- recently cast as Detective Olivia Benson's love interest in a four episode guest arc -- will also appear.
An airdate has not yet been announced.
Lambert, 28, has been keeping an uncharacteristically low profile since tying the knot with beau Blake Shelton last year.
The singer married The Voice judge, 35, in an sunset ceremony in Texas hill country last May.
After a year-long courtship, the country crooners tied the knot in front of 550 friends and family members -- including fellow Nashville stars Reba McEntire and Martina McBride. The bride wore her mom's wedding dress as she walked down the aisle at the Don Strange Ranch, 45-minutes outside San Antonio.
Lambert will kick off the latest leg of her On Fire tour with a concert appearance in Rockford, Illinois on Thursday.
