According to Entertainment Weekly, Rescue Me's co-creator Peter Tolan would serve as executive producer and writer. He and his writing partner, Michael Wimer, are "close" to signing onto the project.

Hayes revealed to AccessHollywood.com during the Television Critics Association Summer Session 2011, that he was planning to return to TV with NBC, but was short with details.

Sean Hayes will be behind the scenes for NBC this fall as he's executive producer of their new drama, Grimm.

Over on the big screen, Sean Hayes just finished shooting The Three Stooges where he's playing Larry, while Will Sasso plays Curly and Chris Diamantopoulos plays Moe.

What do you think of a Sean Hayes' television comeback?

Is a new sitcom with NBC a perfect match for the former Will & Grace star or should he stick with producing credits?
